Just love it

Just love it. Made it several times but have never managed to have the self discipline to let it mature for 6 months. After 2 months the temptation to open a bottle is just too great. Just love it!

Grand Cru

This will be my second Grand Cru, the first being an excellent steady pint, best on an empty stomach, for full effect. Made exactly as Brewferm direct, this has slightly less impact than their Christmas Ale, which is a full flavoured and strong golden, malty, slightly herbal beer. Probably best regarded as the golden version of Abdij (Abbey), although that is a much darker, deeper walk along life's promenade of taste. Highly satisfying beer to be treated with respect and guaranteed enjoyment. Like many high strength beers, this needs to be bottled and not sampled for at least 2 months, as Brewferm state, but it's better at 6 months. Brew in summer for the winter and drink lighter beers meantime, which mature quicker. You'll appreciate the strong ales all the more and, frankly, how lucky are we to have such a first class brew.

Brewferm Grand Cru

I made a batch of this lager in November 2011 and have kept a few bottles back (for posterity?). It does improve with time - a bit like wine !!! It is worth the extra effort for this flavour. Can recommend it to those who can wait.

tasty tasty

It really is an easy brew to make and far far far superior to any cheap and cheerful kits you may have tried as a novice home brewer. This was my first decent kit and it was most excellent - didnt last long though. Buy and make two at a time maybe !

Grand Cru

I have a case of Grand Cru maturing nicely and am looking forward with anticipation to the first week in Aug when it should be ready. If it is as good as Brewferm's Abbey then I'm going to be a very merry chappy.
