1. Select Spraymalt

Light Spraymalt 500g
Light Spraymalt 500g

Light - great for all beer styles. Adds extra body and richness. Especially useful when brewing lighter beers such as lagers and pilsners.

Spraymalt will improve the quality of any beer kit when used in place of sugar. It will brew beers which are less 'dry', with more richness, body and improved head formation and retention. Hopped Spraymalt will add an extra 'hoppy' bite to all the beers you make.

Suggested uses:

1 Replace 50/50 with Brewing Sugar - 1/2 kg sugar plus 1/2 kg Spraymalt (1 pack). Use this in any beer kit recipe which suggests the addition of 1 kg of sugar. This recipe will help dramatically in improving the overall quality and flavour of your beer.

2 Substitute two packs (1 kg) of Spraymalt for all the sugar recommended in the beer kit recipe. Important note: when using this recipe you must use Muntons Premium Gold yeast as you will be producing a beer particularly rich and full-bodied requiring the improved fermentation characteristics of the Muntons Premium Gold Yeast. Simply substitute the two packs of Spraymalt for the 1 kg of sugar stated in the beer kit recipe. This will brew beer of the highest quality transforming any standard beer kit into a premium kit with a particularly high percentage of malt. You may use one pack of Hopped Spraymalt in place of standard Spraymalt in this recipe.

3 Add one pack of Spraymalt to any standard recipe in addition to the 1 kg of sugar suggested with the beer kit. This will not only boost the malt flavour but also brew a stronger beer without destroying the beer's natural character. The beer brewed will be approximately 20% stronger than the standard recipe. Hopped Light again is ideal, improving the hop flavour of the final beer as well as the general richness.

Munton Spraymalt is available in 500g packs. Whichever recipe you follow, you can be sure of producing better beer than any standard kit, easily and economically.

Frequently asked questions about Brewing Sugar

What is the difference between Brewing Sugar and normal household sugar?
Brewing sugar is Dextrose Monohydrate. The main difference in the use is that it is a Mono Saccharide (one molecule of glucose) as opposed to household sugar which is a Di-saccahide (2 molecules). This means that fermentation using brewing sugar will start quicker and ferment cleaner. Normal household sugar has to be 'split' by the yeast which produces bi-products and impurities. These bi-products can have a taste which may slightly affect the taste of home brewed drinks. We recommend using brewing sugar for optimum results.

What is priming?
To carbonate your brews it is necessary to add a small amount of sugar (or enhancer/spraymalt) at the bottling/kegging stage. If using sugar, any sugar can be used but for best results we recommend brewing sugar as it dissolves quickly and leaves no residual sweetness compared to normal sugar.

Coopers Carbonation Drops - FAQ
Are they suitable for all beer styles and how many do I use for UK style bottles?

Carbonation Drops can be used in any style of beer, lager stout or cider. Although the dosage is based on the Australian sized 375 or 750ml bottles, you can use them in any size bottle. If using a 1L Bottle we would suggest using 2 per bottle. If using a 500ml Bottle we would suggest using 1 per bottle for bitter and 2 per bottle for lager and cider.

Home Brew Kit – Makes 40 Pints

A rich, dark brew displaying coffee, chocolate and licorice aromatics, roasty bitter notes with a dry finish. Thomas Coopers Irish Stout is an authentic recipe containing a blend of malted barley, roasted barley, flaked barley and hops.

The pour will show a turbulent, cascading tan foaming action. Eventually, this settles into a creamy beige coloured head that rests atop the beer.

5Top notch

Not going to lie and tell you this is the best stout i have ever tasted..well actually it's the first stout I've ever tasted as i'm trying all kinds of brews since i took up the hobby and have to say it isn't disappointing, i love this stuff. Pours exactly as described, cascading pour that settles to a nice creamy head. Not sure but i detect a treacle smell and taste which isn't in the description but is very pleasant. This will be another I add to my regular cycle of brews.
