A very useful plastic cap spanner for removing lids from King Kegs - they can get surprisingly tight so this little tool can really help.

A very handy device for tightening up and slackening off your 4" vent cap from your king keg. Gone are the days of squeezing the keg between your legs and using all your might to try and unscrew a cap that's been well on for 6 months.

These spanners really make it much easier to remove the lids, some prefer to get 2 of these spanners and tape them together to make one really strong spanner for extra purchase!

Frequently asked questions

At what stage of fermentation should these CO2 Bulbs be used,how often and what types of home brew to use them with. I brew beer, lager and cider?
The CO2 bulbs are a quick substitute to the natural CO2 that builds up during secondary fermentation which takes place in the pressure barrel. They are usually used when the pressure barrel is around half empty as it takes much longer for the natural CO2 to build up, so its easy to put a bulb in and have instant pressure. It can really vary but two or maybe three will sometimes be needed for one brew.
You can use them with any home brew that needs pressurising in your barrel.

King Keg Barrel - Top Tap with Sparkler Tap upgrade

The King Keg is supplied with a 'pin-valve' fitted to the lid for use with 8g disposable bulbs and the tap works with the standard King Keg float system which is included

This King Keg Top Tap barrel has been upgraded and comes supplied with best tap we have seen for attaching to a plastic barrel. The sparkler tap has a vertical lever flip top action, it can be pressed down or pulled up and locked open. It has a sparkler nozzle that can be adjusted to perfectly control the head on your beer, the difference that this tap can make is amazing.

We use Parcelforce and DPD for our courier deliveries and the parcel usually needs to be signed for. If for any reason you are out or unable to take the delivery, the couriers may attempt to leave your parcel with a neighbour for you and put a card through your door. If they are unable to deliver the parcel, when possible it will be taken to your local Royal Mail sorting office or Post Office, or they will re-attempt delivery the next working day for you. A calling card will be left with details of where the parcel is. Estimated time slots will be introduced soon to help with delivery. You can enter an alternative shipping address at the checkout such as your place of work, etc, if you know you will be out, or we can add a delivery note to your parcel such as 'Please leave with a neighbour' or 'Please leave in porch' if you email us any specific delivery instructions after placing the order and we are more than happy to add them to your parcel for you. Parcelforce and DPD will follow any instructions whenever possible but it is at the discretion of the delivery driver and cannot be guaranteed. Orders left in a place specified by the customer are at the customers own risk.

IMPORTANT - For urgent orders you must select the tracked courier option, the Royal Mail service is slower and can in some cases take much longer. In the case of any problems courier deliveries can be resolved much more quickly. Please always check at your local sorting office where Royal Mail will take any parcel they cannot deliver for any reason.

Can I return my order?

We want you to be 100% happy with your order from Home Brew Online and have total confidence ordering from us. We will accept returns for the usual reasons detailed below. When returning any item to us it is very helpful to email us first with details to enable us to help you and process it as effectively as possible.

What do I do if I receive the wrong item?
Please email or call us to inform us of the mistake and we will advise how to return the incorrect item(s) where necessary and resolve as quickly as possible for you.

What do I do if my order arrives damaged?
Please email or call us to inform us of the damage and we will arrange to replace or exchange whichever is best, please do not dispose of anything until we have resolved for you as it may need to be recovered.

What do I do if my order is faulty when it arrives?
Please email or call us to inform us of the fault and we will provide details of how to return the faulty item(s) where necessary and arrange for a replacement. Please do not dispose of any item until we have resolved for you.

What do I do if my order develops a fault after it has been used?
Please email or call us to report any problems with a product, as we can resolve and replace any items if necessary. Many products have guarantees and we will help wherever possible. Products that have been used must not have been misused, and please keep the damaged or faulty items as they may be needed or exchanged. 

What do I do if I change my mind about something when it arrives?
Please email or call us with any item you have changed your mind about and wish to return. Items can be returned up to 30 days from date of delivery. Orders over the Christmas period can be returned until the end of January. Items returned due to no fault of our own may incur a 10% re-stocking fee. Postage paid for the delivery of your order is non-refundable. Your remaining refund will be credited after the returned goods have been checked over and must be fit for re-sale. Please do not return goods which aren’t in their original, re-saleable condition. We won’t send out items to other customers that have been returned and aren’t in perfect condition. Any items returned which are not in perfect, original condition won’t be credited so please ensure adequate packing methods are used.

Can I cancel an order before it is dispatched?
Yes, however a 10% re-stocking fee will be applied if your order has already been packed.

Can I return my item personally?

Yes, if you live nearby and it is more practical to hand deliver an item please contact us.

Who pays the return postage costs?
If the order needs to be returned because of a fault or a mistake on our part then your postage costs will be refunded. We will refund reasonable costs up to the value of 1st Class Royal Mail recorded. If the order is returned because it wasn't suitable or you changed your mind the postage costs are your responsibility. Returned items are your responsibility until we receive them so please use an appropriate service such as Royal Mail recorded. If an item is going to cost more than £15 to return please let us know as this is our maximum postage credit amount, we will arrange for collection in these circumstances.

How will I know if you have received my returned item?
You will automatically receive a confirmation email when your returned item is received.

How long will my return take to process?
We aim to process your return as quickly as possible and usually complete them within a week. Please allow slightly longer at seasonal peaks.

How will I know when my return is completed?
You will receive an email to update you when your return is completed to let you know either that your replacement product is on its way or that your refund has been processed.

Great Barrel I love it now with Sparkler tap also with great help from Dave with the few little teething problems I had who also gets 5 stars with the help he gave me

4Good keg

Keg is excellent when it's fully sealed. Had the odd issue with small leaks and found the best way to solve this is to buy some ky jelly (just for the keg, you might get odd looks)
(HBO Note - It is always worth checking the lid and tap seals from time to time to make sure it stays in perfect order - spare seals are available if needed)
