Great Beer

Absolutely fabulous full flavoured beer. It took a bit longer to brew than suggested despite keeping it up to temperature. Kegged and left for two weeks in the warm and then further two weeks in the garage but well worth the wait. Probably the best brew I have achieved.

Good strong brew

Excellent kit but quite tricky to brew well. Fermentation is slow and I always dry hop the brew too get a good aroma and bitterness. Needs at least a month for the secondary fermentation or the beer is too flat. Worth it in the end.

Evil Dog

This beer instantly goes to number 5 of my all time brews. (I have tried quite a few now though!) It's very smooth, not as hoppy or floral as the Youngs American Craft kits, but more balanced. Just like Bulldog brews "Bad Cat" this is also one of those ones you really want to watch out for as it is so drinkable and really doesn't taste as strong as it is. You could drink it all evening, but more than a few bottles of this and you'll be passing out to a night of unconscious hallucinating followed by a day of the worst headache of your life! Also takes slightly longer to clear then the Youngs kits, which are good to go in as little as 3 weeks, these need a few weeks on top of that in secondary fermentation. I'll be buying this again.

Best brew yet

First time with a Bulldog kit and easily the best brew that I've done to date (and I've done quite a few others). The kit is straight forward and I added the hops about half way through fermentation. It took 3-4 weeks to fully ferment and the sample from my trial jar tasted superb. Bottled and left for 6 weeks and sampled a bottle yesterday, not overly hoppy, a beer perfectly matched to my taste. BTW the ferment is very lively and it spilled over a 25l bucket, will be using a wide neck fermenter next time.
