This is a great winter beer; just right for Christmas. In my case fermentation was somewhat lively at first, but it soon settled down to more sensible proportions. The SG was down to 1010 in just over two weeks (at about 21C), and after bottling with a little sugar, the sediment settled very quickly. A transfer to my cold garage and four weeks later it has cleared well and developed a nice carbonation. The spice taste is there in the background but very subtle, which is to my liking. Quite a strong beer, though, and too many might mean difficulty getting out of bed the next morning.

Nice and spicy
My brother and I enjoyed this over Christmas. It has quite a strong spiced flavour (ginger mainly) that I enjoyed. The volume to brew to was a bit confusing. Its 32 pints not 40. I've contacted customer services and they are getting the description updated on the site. Overall a nice ale that I would try again at Christmas or if we ever get some cold weather this winter.
