Pear cider

Was not what u was exspecting! Tasted cheap. Never again                                                                                                           HBO Note: This is quite a popular range but you will find the flavour lacking if not left to condition in bottles or a barrel for a good few weeks, this can make a big difference

Good cider

Best brew I've done so far on my 2nd batch now much stronger than pear cider available off the shelf

My regular brew!!

After doing my first ever batch of home brew I felt a strong desire to brew something a little different and searched forums for suggestions on a Koppaberg clone. This kit was mentioned repeatedly with strong recommendation. One thing mentioned on the forums was if you sample it after the standard 2 weeks from bottling/barrelling, it can have a chemically flavour, therefore many people recommend leaving it for up to three months. I had part filled bottle (less than 1/4 full) and sampled it after 2 or 3 weeks and it did have a slightly funny taste to it, so I decided to leave it a full 8 weeks before sampling some more. I'm so glad I did. It tastes fantastic and is definitely something I am going to have as regular stock. Carbonation worked great in my 1L flip cap bottles. I've even had three people say it tastes better than Koppaberg, can't ask for a better result and can't wait to brew the other flavours!

Getting better with time

Not too sure about this brew at first. It was very sweet and had a strong pear drops taste and smell. 6 weeks later though it has improved, gone is the artificial pear and its now very drinkable. Still quite sweet though.

Best Cider Kit I've Brewed

Brewed as per instructions, except I made 21 ltrs instead of 23, and barrelled for 4 weeks. Being in a barrel made it more like a pear scrumpy, which I prefer as it's less gassy. The result was quite simply the best cider I've tasted. Have ordered another, along with the mixed berry.

On the Rocks Cider Kit - Pear

Last night it had been bottled for 2 weeks, one was nice and chilled in the fridge - crystal clear and a lovely sweet pear taste to it. I used 2 carbonation drops per 500mm bottle and its got a perfect fizz, not too little and not too much to have you burping all night. The only part I didn't realise was I needed another bin to syphon the first stage brew into to mix the flavoring with.
