Great tap, easy to fit.

Ideal addition to your bucket or barrel, makes it much easier for straining after fermentation leaving sediment behind, also great for wine making as this helps in degassing the fluid during transfer.

quick serve tap

far better in my opinion than the original tap i got with my barrel. i felt that this type is easier to clean and offered finer control - also, the outlet of this one does not seem to spray as much as the original that i got. still leaks a bit of liquid through it unfortunately, but i think that is just part of the course with barrels.

add on tap

Bought this to add to wide neck fermenter. You have to be careful drilling out the hole in the fementer as the tap hole is a molded depression in the fermenter. I had to add a few turns of plumbers tape to make the tap seal watertight. This tap fixing is the same size (25mm) as little bottler tap. However the tap outflow is different size which I hadnt realized. I managed to make an adapter from 1 inch of syphon tube heated in boiling water and pushed over the end of the tap. This allows me to use the bottler racking cane from my other fermenter. I would recommend you just buy a complete little bottler which already comes with a tap and backnut for each fermenter as the difference in cost is only 3 quid.

Completely hopeless

(HBO - There would sound to be a manufacturing defect with your tap. This will be replaced if this is the case. Please let us help). Bought this to replace the broken tap on my barrel. Fitting was as easy as. I am entirely unimpressed with the quality of the item however. After fitting correctly and tightening sufficiently I put my brew (Woodfordes Wherry kit) into it and left it to clear. About two weeks into this the tap leaked and has caused a pretty major stain on my carpet, which is now ruined. The brew was made _exactly_ as per the pack intructions, including the correct amount of priming sugar and storage temperature. The barrel is fitted with a standard pressure release cap. I double checked the fit and it was tight, the tap pushed fully back. I then moved the tap to exactly perpendicular as some seal in the position rather than pushed back. Another 10 days or so passed and I thought the problem was gone but it then leaked all over again. Thankfully I had placed it in a watertight tray in the thought that this may happen again. I would never buy this product again as it is entirely unfit for purpose. If you were considering it for a non-pressurised bucket then I would say it's fine for that but I would be *extremely* cautious of trusting it.
