Camden Town Pale Ale Clone #1

Camden Town Pale Ale Clone #1
Camden Town Pale Ale Clone #1

My BIAB system is so easy to use, I've even managed to get SWMBO (my girlfriend) involved. Here she is doughing in the gris

The recipe for this is for a 21 litre batch, with an overall efficiency of 75%. Malts... 4.5 Kg Pale Malt 0.3 kg Crystal 60 0.3 kg Munich Malt 0.25 kg Wheat Malt Mash temperature of 64C for a nice dry finish. Hops... 22 grams Magnum - First Wort Hop (or throw in at beginning of boil) 30 grams Amarillo - 30 mins 20 grams Simcoe - 15 mins 30 grams Citra - Aroma Steep for 45 mins 15 grams Simcoe - Aroma Steep for 45 mins If you can cool the wort slightly before the aroma steep even better. Yeast... I pitched WLP001 from a 1.2 litre stir-plated starter. Any of the 'Chico' strain yeasts would be great though, so pitching Safale US-05 would be great! Fermentation... It's just finishing primary fermentation at around 16C in my fermentation chamber, this is a great time of year for crisp Pale Ales even if you don't have any temperature control. Just buy a stick on LCD thermometer from these lovely people at home brew online and try to keep it at around 16-18C. I'll be dry hopping with 50 grams Citra and 50 grams Simcoe for a week. Yummy! Serving... This is going to go into a Corny keg and get force carbonated and served cold. This would also be a total cracker bottled condition and poured straight from the fridge. Give it a go! THe girlfriend always looks forward to a brew day and a nice home brew too! Cheers all!
